I was recently contacted by Craig Lessard, a parent from Panther Run Elementary School in Florida who has not only contributed four new quizzes aimed at the 5th Grade, but in producing those quizzes, he also constructed something I never really thought of.
Microsoft Excel is a great tool that can be used for all kinds of things. Craig realised it could be a great way of compiling Quiz Boxes quizzes. This neat single page printout can either be used as a paper template, or you can type straight into it in Excel. Then it’s a pretty easy job to Copy/Paste into the Quiz Boxes Question Editor.
And of course, like everything else at this site, it’s free and customizable! Thanks Craig!
Download the Excel Template for Jeopardy (requires MS Excel 2000 or later).
I think the excel spreadsheet is a great idea…however, I found it to be a little bit confusing to complete. How do you use it for double-jeopardy? (the second round?)
I think I solved my own problem! Was a little confused with something. Got it now! 🙂 Great program and the spreadsheet is a great idea too!

IS THERE ANY SHORTCUTS FOR THIS SOFTWARE, SO I DONT HAVE TO USE THE MOUSE. I dont want the mouse pointer to show up during the game.
Also, is any way I can export this spreadsheet direct to the quizbuilder, or import from there?
Thank you
Ronaldo
Hi Ronaldo.
No, a mouse (or some other pointing device like a tablet or an IWB) is required. On your second question, use Notepad to open one of the quiz files the game uses. You’ll then see exactly how a quiz file is formatted. It’s very straightforward.
Hi I love this idea and would really like to see the kids create there own game then we play as a class. However, how do I open it in the quiz box’s? i cant work it out.
Hi Hanna, Have you gone through the Instructions page? http://quizboxes.com/instructions/
yes i did and tried the suggestion but it would not work
Hanna, you’re really not giving me any clues as to what your actual problem is. Does this video help? http://www.sydneyr.det.nsw.edu.au/support/other/technology/jeopardy/jeopardy.htm – if not, then I have no idea what you are trying to do.
Sorry, I just want to use the excel as a template then upload to use in the quiz boxes. the only instruction is “then it’s a pretty easy job to Copy/Paste into the Quiz Boxes Question Editor.” I am hoping there is a way to upload the file into the program or do i have to copy and paste each individual question from the excel template and pates into question editor?
Thank you for your time
Aah now I understand what you are asking. No. You cannot upload the spreadsheet into the program. The idea of the spreadsheet to to allow students to work on building their quiz file externally to the QuizBoxes program, but one they are finished, you have to start a new quiz in QuizBoxes, then transpose each question and answer into the appropriate boxes in the program. It can be a cut/paste exercise, or a retype.
Thank you so much for this spreadsheet. I have 7 rounds of games for a college brain bowl in a 2 hour setting. There was no way I was going to remember the answer to all of these questions!!! This has solved a HUGE problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Glad you’ve found the spreadsheet and the game useful LaKisha.
The link doesn’t work anymore, as it links to your previous site. Do you have a new location for it?
Yes, sorry, I’m moving my site to another host and the domain transfer takes time. Should be back within a week.
The link has now been fixed on the downloads page. Sorry for the inconvenience.
