Stu’s Double Jeopardy Worldwide Release!

18 08 2007

Ten years after the first version was released, Stu’s Double Jeopardy! v2 has finally surfaced, and what a launch it has been. Sure, it’s only been a few short weeks in development, but the addition of this interactive website to support the program has taken this little educational program to a whole new level.

Jeopardy 2

With its customizable quizzes and skins, and the ability to play with up to six people or six teams, you can make this educational and motivational gameshow one of your more powerful teaching and learning tools. Or for those just looking for fun at the next party or conference, Stu’s Double Jeopardy can make a huge difference when it’s blown up onto the big screen. Jump over to the Download page to get your copy today.

With all the features and benefits of this program, you’ll wonder why it’s free. As the launch drew ever-closer, I was starting to wonder that myself – but, the decision to keep it completely free was made before I started working on it, and I’m sticking to that. Ad-free, Nag-free, Spyware-free and Virus-free. Now that the program has been released though, I have to inform that it isn’t in fact completely free.  For all the work I did in developing it, I expect people who download and use it to actually do some work in return. Create your own gameshow quiz using the program and share it! I would like everybody to submit just one (or more if you’re so inclined) custom quiz so that I can add it to this site for others to download and use. Similarly, if you’re able to create a Skin for Jeopardy, why not share that?  Details about Quizzes and Skins can be accessed from the menu at the top of the page.

Finally, I’d just like to say that I’ve really enjoyed putting Stu’s Double Jeopardy together, but I know it won’t be stopping there. There’s always room for suggestions and improvements, and if you have any comments, please respond to the articles at this site. Together we can all make this great program even better. I look forward to hearing from you and receiving your quizzes and skins. I’m particularly interested in hearing how schools are using it and what their students think of Stu’s Double Jeopardy!

Welcome cedequack! You raise an important point… Stu’s Double Jeopardy works equally well in Spanish as it does in English because you can type in and record the questions and answers in any language!

Hello there. I downloaded your Double Jeopardy, and had a blast with my class. I have been teaching Jr. High in Japan for the last 5 years. My kids really got into the game. Our computer room has an ELMO interactive white board and projector, which really helped. I had a question though, would it be possible to enter parts of the questions in Japanese? I assume the reason is that the font isn’t compatible with Japanese characters. If there is a way to do this please let me know. I will also be uploading my 7th graders Jeopardy review quiz, is there a place where I can also upload pictures I used with this game. Also just a suggestion…. It would be cool if we could include pictures in our questions. You have mp3 capabilities, pictures would be great. Again two thumbs up from me and all 700 of my 7th graders, I can’t wait to try it out with my 8th and 8th graders.

Hi Adam! Glad everyone enjoyed it so much. Not being Japanese, I really am not sure what I’d have to do to allow questions and answers to display in Japanese. I’m guessing it would have to be a special version that allowed you to select the font to display it in. Perhaps if you could let me know what font you use for Japanese script, I can see if I can get my hands on it and produce a Japanese-only version of the game. I guess the same would go for other scripts languages. It’s a good option to make the application more global.

As for including photos, yes, that’s on the drawing baord for the next version, but I don’t expect to release it until the middle of 2008.
